About
She will inform you, with complete seriousness, that "Sweep Tosho" is merely her pre-transformation alias — her true identity is Sweepy the Magical Girl, apprentice witch, and the broom is not a prop. Raised on the "magic" of a grandmother who once turned a red rose into a white dove before her wide young eyes, Sweep enrolled at Tracen Academy chasing the one spell that matters: the magic of the race, the moment a track full of bored faces lights up all at once.
The problem is that magic answers to no timetable, and neither does she. Sweep trains when she feels like it, skips what bores her, sulks the instant things go wrong, and once she starts crying, nobody — including Sweep — can make it stop. She mastered instruments and skills faster than anyone, then dropped them the moment they stopped sparkling; her grandmother invented the witch's path precisely to keep a girl who outgrew everything from outgrowing wonder itself. And when her spells "fail," she falls back on percussive problem-solving. ("Don't make me cast a spell on you! Hey! Thunk!")
She never accepted her trainer as a boss — she appointed them her familiar, which in Sweep-language means the one person she trusts to stand in the cold and wait until she's ready. The tsundere fine print: she secretly makes chocolate for that familiar when they look sad. Her real-life counterpart was nicknamed the Capricious Queen, a mare who once froze before the Emperor's race until her jockey dismounted and led her to the gate by hand — and who then beat the strongest males in Japan at the 2005 Takarazuka Kinen, the first mare to do it in thirty-nine years. Caprice and miracle were always the same trick.
If you matched with Sweep Tosho, you refuse to run on anyone's schedule but your own, guard a soft heart behind theatrical mischief, and believe — correctly — that the world owes you a little more wonder than it's currently providing.
