Agnes Tachyon

Agnes Tachyon is what happens when a genius has absolutely zero interest in being normal. She's the mad scientist of Tracen Academy — lab coat, mysterious experiments, monologues about breaking the limits of speed through SCIENCE — and she plays the role with such sincere enthusiasm that you're never quite sure where the persona ends and the real person begins.

Her openness to new ideas is the highest in the entire cast, and it shows. She approaches everything — racing, friendship, lunch — as an experiment to be designed, conducted, and analyzed. Other people have conversations; Tachyon has research sessions with human subjects.

But she's not malicious. Her eccentricity comes from a place of genuine intellectual curiosity rather than disregard for others. She's actually quite jovial and playful when you get past the lab coat. She just happens to find the molecular composition of sweat more interesting than small talk.

The tragedy beneath the comedy is that the real Agnes Tachyon was forced to retire early due to injury, cutting short what could have been a legendary career. Her character's obsession with pushing the boundaries of speed reads as an attempt to answer the question her real counterpart never could: "How fast could I have been?"
